Growing Markets
Governments and utilities are increasingly looking offshore for our energy future. Utilities are increasingly looking towards subsea cables as an alternative to overland routes - and to maximizing utilization by interconnecting power grids across bodies of water. We’re also seeing a growing commitment to renewable energy - offshore wind, wave and tidal projects. Subsea cable installation is the way forward to meeting the power consumption demands of the future.
In offshore wind & subsea power interconnects, cabling is core to the execution of a successful project, and safely and efficiently delivering the power across great distances under the ocean, from either the turbine to the shore, or from one shore to another, is no small feat. This means that the role that the cabling services provider plays is critical. A provider must have experience and expertise in route planning, permitting, cable handling, vessel management, environmental awareness, project installation, and long term maintenance.
Global Marine Energy fills this bill. While we are a new company, we’re able to draw on the experience and expertise of Global Marine Systems. With over 150 years of subsea cable lay experience, Global Marine has been involved in the offshore windfarm market in Europe since its beginnings. With our heritage, Global Marine Energy is well positioned to help ensure that the cabling infrastructure so essential to any offshore energy project will meet that project’s needs, now and in the future.
